Women's health from menarche, through the childbearing years, to menopause and beyond are very much connected to the foods you eat. I love helping women holistically find balance through a nourishing anti-inflammatory diet, healing herbs, and other natural medicines.

to Functional Nutrition Counseling with Catherine Scheffer.
Through my own health challenges that started from a young age, I witnessed the profound effect food could have to help (or hinder!) my efforts to restore health. Sometimes successful in my attempts to alleviate symptoms, sometimes not, one thing definitely emerged from these experiences: they sparked an ongoing passion for experimenting with food and healthy eating.
I was motivated to study Science at University, where my interest in microbiology (which evolved later into making my own ferments in the kitchen!) and psychology (and my love of understanding how the mind works) were born. After graduating with my Bachelor of Science degree, and always having been fascinated by alternative medicine, I decided to train to become a Naturopathic Doctor. After graduating and becoming licensed, I worked in private practice for nearly 10 years before moving overseas and taking on new adventures!
My passion is nutrition:
– from tending my own garden, to grow the healthiest fruits, vegetables, and herbs I can for my family,
– to excitedly learning ever more about the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients contained in food and drinks,
– to enjoying the simple yet amazing ways to prepare food to make it more digestible, nutritious, and delicious,
– to being ever fascinated by how nutrients affect the function of the human body
It is my goal to pass on my knowledge and experience to improve your well-being through balanced and individualized diet and lifestyle suggestions.
